Rattlesnake Ridge Bison was built on a simple idea: raise bison the way they were meant to live, with room to roam, strong herd instincts, and respect for the land beneath them. The Kreofsky family began raising North American Plains bison in 1992, starting with just four animals and a belief that the Driftless hills around Kellogg were the right place to do it. Over the decades, that small beginning grew into a working ranch and a herd that reflects years of hands-on care and steady commitment.

Today, the ranch is carried forward by the next generation. Kevin and Stephanie Kreofsky are continuing what was started here, bringing fresh energy to the same values that shaped Rattlesnake Ridge from the beginning: careful stewardship, responsible animal care, and honest food raised close to home. Their focus is simple and clear. Keep the ranch strong, keep the standards high, and expand access to Rattlesnake Ridge Bison through trusted butcher shops, markets, and restaurant partners.

Everything we produce is rooted in integrity, from how the herd is managed to how the meat is handled and sold. Rattlesnake Ridge Bison offers inspected bison meat, and the ranch also supports the bison community through additional ranch services and offerings. This is not a trend for us. It’s a way of life built over decades, and it’s still growing
